Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

Note: This is a placeholder policy drafted in good faith. DocSaathi's operator should have it reviewed by a qualified legal professional before a wide public launch — especially because the service handles sensitive document categories such as medical, legal, and financial records.

1. What data we collect

Account information: when you sign up, we collect your email address, name (if provided), and authentication details. If you sign in with Google, we receive the basic profile information Google shares with us (name and email).

Uploaded documents and images: the files you upload (PDFs and photos) and their full contents. These may contain sensitive personal information — including medical reports, legal notices, government forms, and bank or loan documents. We process them solely to generate your simplified summary.

Usage data: how many documents you have summarized on a given day, so we can apply the free daily limit. Guest users are tracked with an anonymous device identifier stored in the browser.

2. How your documents are processed

When you upload a document, its content (extracted text for PDFs, or the image itself for photos) is sent to a third-party AI provider — the NVIDIA NIM API — to generate the simplified explanation. The AI provider processes this content transiently to produce a response. We recommend you avoid uploading documents containing information you would not want processed by a third-party AI service.

3. How your data is stored

Your account data, uploaded files, and generated summaries are stored securely using our cloud backend (Supabase). Files are kept in private storage and are accessible only through signed, expiring links tied to your account.

4. Retention

Uploaded documents and their summaries are stored until you delete them or close your account. If you would like your data removed sooner, contact us at the address below and we will delete it.

5. What we never do

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data or document contents to anyone. We do not use your documents for advertising.

6. Payments

Paid subscriptions are processed by Dodo Payments. DocSaathi never sees or stores your card number, UPI details, or other payment credentials — those are handled entirely by Dodo Payments under their own privacy policy.

7. Your rights

You may request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and all associated documents at any time by contacting us at the email below.

8. Cookies and analytics

We use a small number of browser storage items strictly to keep you signed in and to remember your guest usage. We do not currently use third-party advertising or behavioral analytics trackers.

9. Important disclaimer

DocSaathi provides simplified explanations of documents for informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, or financial advice. Always consult a qualified doctor, lawyer, or financial advisor before acting on anything important.
